"The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others" -Mahatma Gandhi
The world is changing quickly. That’s why Portland Monthly is shining a light on the individuals and organizations dedicated to improving our communities. With more than 22,000 nonprofits hard at work in the state of Oregon, extraordinary acts of community service are everywhere.
Portland Monthly’s 14th annual Light a Fire Awards unite local philanthropic organizations and regional businesses to celebrate these dedicated groups and individuals. Awards honor those who make the Portland metropolitan area more prosperous, beautiful, healthful, and sustainable—in a word, better—for everyone.
After a year away, our 14th Annual Light a Fire awards dinner and celebration is returing to the Portland Art Museum and embracing the venue with ART as a theme for the evening. A fitting theme for an evening devoted to celebrating the art of giving, inspiring, creating, and changing our city for the better.
Like an artist use their muse, so to will guests find inspiration from the stories of this year's honorees.
